Greatest Poets of All Time

Hey guys, welcome to a more blog-style post today. A poem will likely be up some time next week-it’s currently in the revision stage, and I’m pretty happy with the overall emotional expression. Without further ado, let’s begin.

As writers, we hear it all the time: read more and you will write better. The same applies to really any activity. Personally, I have always been a doer rather than consumer in my activities, whether it’s music, writing, sports. So although I enjoy reading poems from time to time (usually from my book of collective poems), I don’t have an extensive knowledge of poets. Therefore, this semester, I’m planning to focus on consumption of poetry. Don’t worry though– you guys will be enjoying a lot of poems from me– at least one a week because luckily, I’m in a creative writing class on poetry, in which we’re assigned to write poems with a certain theme. Really enjoying the class right now, and hoping that my technique and knowledge of poetry will improve 🙂

So throughout these next months, get excited for updates on poets that I’ve been enjoying!

As a treat for those of you who also want to become more well-read in poetry, here is a list of some renowned, top poets of all time. I added a famous quote from each to make the list more entertaining.  The list won’t include contemporary poets- will likely make a separate post on that.
